Emergency Financial Services 

Emergency help for families facing emergency situations can be found at Catholic Charities in Norwich, New London and Willimantic. The primary goal of Emergency Services and Case Management Services is to provide , information and referrals to community resources, as well as case management for individuals and families in crisis situations to help meet their immediate basic needs.

We offer assistance in the following areas:

  • Food
  • Shelter (including rental assistance when available)
  • Clothing (including vouchers issued when available)
  • Utilities
  • Prescription Assistance
  • Emergency Transportation
  • Through a generous grant from the Walmart Foundation, the program provides SNAP outreach and enrollment services to help meet the food needs of the unemployed and underemployed.

Case Management Services 

Our case managers help individuals and families prioritize their most urgent needs as a result of a crisis such as fire, flood, family violence, and loss of income.  

In the case of a more chronic situation, the Case Manager will provide referrals for job counseling, continued education, referrals to behavioral health services and family support services.  Each plan of action is tailored to enhance the clients' use of services and to restore or maintain greater independent functioning to the fullest extent possible.
