Pregnancy Support Services |
The Pregnancy Support services offer parenting classes for parents of children between the ages of 4 and 17, a parent and child playgroup for parents of children 2-5 and the pregnancy support program which provides comprehensive services to pre-birth and birth parents. The goal of the program is to help parents make and carry out sound decisions for themselfs and their unborn children.
We offer:
- Extensive Services

- Pregnancy Testing
- "Earn While You Learn" Parenting Education (0-4)
- 7-Week Parenting Classes (4-17): Monday evenings, 331 Main Street, Norwich___ (There is a $20 fee per family for the seven sessions)
- Free Parent and Child Playgroup (2-5) Group meets the 1st Tuesday of every month. ----(Parents must register in advance)
- Support Group for Parents following Parenting Education

Special emphasis is placed on connecting pregnant women with health care and supporting parents in their plans to continue their education or find employment. We will help you:
- Obtain health care.
- Gain access to other needed services.
- Understand adoption and parenting issues.
- Choose an adoption or parenting plan best suited for your needs.
- Find temporary emergency housing.
- Locate permanent housing.
- Increase your parenting or independent living skills.
- Continue school or find employment.
Birth parents who choose adoption are provided information about their legal rights and options available in adoptions. Counseling is available throughout the process to both the birth parents and members of their families.
Birth parents planning to parent their children are offered parenting education, mentors, counseling, child development information, free layettes, and after care service for one year following the birth of their child.
