Pregnancy Support Services |
- Free Pregnancy Testing
- "Earn While You Learn" Parenting Education (0-4 years old)
- 10-Week Parenting Classes (4-17 years old): Monday evenings, 331 Main Street, Norwich 6:00 - 7:30 PM. There is a $20 fee for this program. DCF Approved. Parents must register in advance.
- Counseling
- Support Groups for Parents who have completed the 10-week Parenting program
- Information regarding the Loving Adoption Option
The Pregnancy Support Services Program offers Parenting Classes
for parents of children between the ages of 4 - 17. Individual education services
are provided to pre-natal (pre-birth) and birth parents. The goal of the program is
to help parents make and carry out sound decisions for themselves and their children.
Special emphasis is placed on connecting pregnant women with health care and supporting a family to implement a sound parenting plan.
The Case Manager will help you:
- Access health care.
- Gain access to other needed services.
- Find temporary emergency housing.
- Locate permanent housing.
- Develop and/or increase parenting skills.
- Explore adoption with its many options.
- Choose an adoption or parenting plan best suited for your needs.
- Find temporary emergency housing.
- Referrals to education and employment opportunities
Birth parents who choose adoption are provided information about their legal rights and adoption options. Counseling is available throughout the process to both the birth parent(s) and their families.
Birth parents planning to parent their children are offered Parenting Education, Counseling, Child Development Education, layettes, and After-Care services up to one year following the birth of their child.
