St. Agustine & St. John Ladies Guild Baby Shower & Tea to Benefit Catholic Charities
The St. Augustine’s Ladies Guild met on Sunday April 28th in the afternoon for tea and a baby shower.  A baby shower for the pregnant mothers and clients with young children of Catholic Charities. WILLIMANTIC – The Norwich Diocesan Council of Catholic Women gathered at St. Joseph Church in Willimantic Sunday April 28th in the afternoon for a luncheon and to present staff of Catholic Charities with items collected throughout the Diocese for their Annual Layette Program. United Way announces capacity building grants
United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is pleased to announce a round of capacity building grants to several United Way Partner Programs to increase their effectiveness. This funding opportunity was designed to assist Partners to improve ratings for Partner Programs during the Allocations process, and, ultimately, improve program effectiveness and outcomes for their program participants. St. Thomas More School Helps Others This Christmas!
On Tuesday, December 18th Maura Howard, Assistant Dean of Students at St. Thomas More School visited Catholic Charities bearing gifts.  Maura and the St. Thomas More School community generously donated $1,000 in gift cards to the clients of Catholic Charities.  Maura also presented Catholic Charities with a check for the agency’s Emergency Basic Needs Program Fuel Fund.   The money raised for these generous gifts were from donations made by the students and faculty members of St. Thomas More School.  Maura has coordinated this on behalf of Catholic...

Bob’s Discount Furniture Non-Exempt Employees Help Others this Holiday Season
Catholic Charities was blessed to be visited by Dorothy Stropparo, James Renfro and Maribel Santiago from Bob’s Furniture in Taftville.  The three delivered a check in the amount of $1,210.07 with 10 gift certificates for either one ham or one turkey, up to $20, to help those served by Catholic Charities.  This was collected and donated by their non-exempt employees and came unsolicited.  Thank you to all those who donated and helped those most in need within our community!

Catholic Charities partners with local agencies to help those most in need this Thanksgiving
As most gathered with friends and family for Thanksgiving, there were many who could not afford dinner for their families.  With the help of many community partners, like the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, the Connecticut Food Bank, Shop Rite and Stop & Shop, Catholic Charities was able to make Thanksgiving brighter for so many families.  Catholic Charities was able to provide either a turkey or a chicken with all of the fixings to make a healthy and enjoyable meal, or a local grocery store gift card, to 90 families in Norwich, 68 families in New Lond...
